prepare students in the modalities of Swedish relaxation massage, chair massage, sports massage, hot stone therapy, hydrotherapy, spa techniques, orthopedic massage and assessment, and more. Students will learn business aspects of massage therapy, client communication and documentation, musculoskeletal palpation techniques, appropriate therapeutic massage interventions for various pathologies, and application of research-based massage therapy techniques and protocols. Students also are prepared in a new, state-of-the-art lab complete with necessary industry equipment and supplies. Hands-on techniques and business practices are integrated throughout the experience, with students regularly work one-on-one with clients in various settings such as community outreach, events, and volunteer opportunities. The educational experience culminates with students working in the on-campus student massage clinic as well as externship experiences.
