The CCAC Educational
Foundation is the fundraising and benefactor arm of the college. It seeks to
create vital connections between the college and the wider community
to ensure the ongoing viability of the college.
01-28-2010 -- CCAC honors societies win third fundraising race for breast cancer research
PITTSBURGH-Stretching their winning record to a third year, the
honors societies at the Community College of Allegheny County
(CCAC) took first place in the annual Pink Feet Race for the Cure
benefitting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. The four
CCAC honors societies, representing each of the college's campuses,
presented a check for $2,002 to Julie Philp of the Komen Foundation
at a celebration Jan. 21.
CCAC's contribution represented nearly half of the $4,207 total
collected for the 2009 race. Jacqueline Robinson, a CCAC honors
student at West Hills center in Oakdale, collected $700 herself to
help CCAC to victory.
The annual event pits CCAC against Duquesne, Point Park and
Robert Morris universities.
