• 08-10-2010 -- CCAC–South Campus Theatre Department presents Two Rooms

    PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC)-South Campus presents the politically charged drama Two Rooms, opening Thursday, August 19, and running through Saturday, August 28. The cast includes CCAC alumna Dana Mauro, current student and Pittsburgh Promise scholar Stanley Graham and Carin Bendas. 

    George Jaber, head of the theater department, and faculty member Ben Blazer have collaborated to direct Two Rooms, a story about American educators involved in a politically motivated kidnapping while working overseas in Beirut. The play addresses the relationship between terrorism, foreign policy and the media. 

    Matthew Stiffler, Ph.D., a researcher for the Arab American National Museum, will give a lecture on the current Lebanese hostage crisis for Jaber's theater classes from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on August 27. Dr. Stiffler will also give a presentation to the audience immediately prior to the performance that evening and a Q&A session for the audience will be held at the conclusion of the show.
