The Community College of Allegheny County provides a supportive and transformative learning environment that prepares graduates to meet critical needs in the region’s workforce.
At CCAC, we believe that life outside the classroom is an important part of your college experience. Each CCAC campus has a variety of activities to enhance your lifestyle – including athletics, cultural events and personal development seminars.
The CCAC Educational
Foundation is the fundraising and benefactor arm of the college. It seeks to
create vital connections between the college and the wider community
to ensure the ongoing viability of the college.
On behalf of the CCAC Board of Trustees, our esteemed faculty, staff and administrators, as well as our approximately 45,000-strong student body and our many alumni, welcome to the Community College of Allegheny County. Whether you are considering CCAC as part of your continuing academic studies, wish to take classes so as to advance your career or want to join the ranks of our many life-long learners, CCAC offers a wealth of educational options from which to choose.
Founded in 1966 on the principle that quality education should be both affordable and accessible to all members of our community, CCAC offers more than 150 academic programs across six diverse program categories including business; science, technology, engineering and math; health; culinary arts, arts and humanities; and education and the social and behavioral sciences. Our students are taught by more than 275 full-time faculty and instructors in classes averaging just under 20 students each. And our students are further enriched by the more than 100 student clubs and organizations CCAC offers, as well as through their participation in the number of NJCAA men's and women's sport teams at each of its four campuses.
For 50 years CCAC has flourished, becoming the educational powerhouse it is today--responsible for educating one of every three Allegheny County residents 18 years and older. We are honored to have one of the largest veteran student populations in the region and take pride that we graduate one of the largest number of health career graduates among two-year colleges, ranking number three in the nation for registered nurses and ranking in the top 10 for the number of graduates in other health-related professions. With nearly 95% of our graduates choosing to remain in the region, it's no surprise that we have one of the largest and most active alumni bases in southwestern Pennsylvania.
We invite you to come and see for yourself what CCAC has to offer.
