PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased
to announce that the CCAC Workforce Development Division has joined
the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Academy. As a member institution of
the AWS Academy, the college has access to an authorized cloud
computing curriculum developed and maintained by the academy. AWS
Academy certifications recognize individuals with the technical
skills and expertise to design, deploy and operate applications on
AWS.
Beginning in the fall of 2018, the college will offer the
following cloud computing courses:
AWS Academy Cloud Foundations is a 24-hour course for those
seeking an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts. The
course provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS Academy
core services, security, architecture, pricing and support. This is
an entry-level course; however, students should have general IT
technical and business knowledge. The course will be held from
Sept. 11 to Oct. 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00
p.m.
AWS Academy Cloud Computing Architecture is a 60-hour course
designed to help students develop technical expertise in cloud
computing and prepare them for the AWS Certified Solutions
Architect - Associate certification exam. The course is delivered
through instructor-led classes, hands-on labs and project
work. Students have access to course manuals, online knowledge
assessments, a free practice certification exam and a discount
voucher for the exam. Classes will be held from Oct. 9 to Dec. 18
on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Both AWS Academy courses will be offered
at CCAC's North Campus in McCandless Township, located at 8701
