CCAC North Campus Cross Country runner wins WPCC Championship, finishes fourth at NJCAA

PITTSBURGH—Community College of Allegheny County North Campus Cross Country team member Cody DiVecchio of Burgettstown finished first, among 20 runners, at the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (WPCC) Championship held at Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, Pa., on October 15. One week later, DiVecchio finished fourth among 31 runners at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Men’s Championship held at Lake Fairfax Regional Park in Herndon, Va.

DiVecchio and CCAC teammate Stephen Paxinos of Montour will travel to Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, N.Y., to compete in the NJCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Championship on November 12. According to CCAC North Campus Athletic Director Chuck Bell, DiVecchio has a chance to make “All American” by finishing among the top 15 runners.
