• GED Preparation Classes

    GED PrepCCAC's Bridge to College and Career Pathways Program provides high school equivalency test preparation classes to adults who want to strengthen their academic skills and develop the critical thinking and reasoning skills required to pass the 2014 GED® or HiSET® test. The program is only offered at CCAC's Allegheny Campus on the North Shore. All classes are free to students. Program funding is provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Through participation in the program, students can expect to increase their Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Mathematics skills and work towards attaining a Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma (formerly GED).

    A prospective student over age 18 must:

    • Be a Pennsylvania resident; and
    • Not be enrolled in an approved or licensed secondary school.


    A prospective student under age 18 must:

    • Be 16 or 17 years old;
    • Be a Pennsylvania resident; and
    • Provide the program with an official letter of withdrawal from their school district on school district letterhead signed by an official of the school. This letter must be provided to the program at intake testing.


    Class Schedule

    • Classes are scheduled in six week sessions
    • Classes meet three days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  (There is a half hour lunch break each day.)
